Chandler Gerber, a husband and father, resides with his family near Bluffton, Indiana, where he was born and raised. He speaks throughout the country on the topics of driving safety, forgiveness, overcoming obstacles, and a variety of similar themes. His life plans never included speaking or being involved in the public eye, but God has a way of using each of us as He sees fit.
Chandler appears in “From One Second to the Next”, a short film on texting while driving that can be viewed on Netflix and YouTube. He is part of the “It Can Wait” program, a national crusade that raises distracted driving awareness.

The Irony of Grace: A Journey of ForgivenessMy husband had been interested in reading this book and when it arrived at the house, I started reading it. From the very first page, I was completely immersed in his real-life story. Because of this book, I became aware of his appearance in the short film on texting while driving, "From One Second to the Next," that is available on Netflix and Youtube. After viewing it, I can say that I do believe this should be a required viewing in Driver's Education classes.
After reading the book, this bible verse kept running through my head:
"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12:9 King James Version (KJV)

Love this book! Super sad and convicting about the effects of texting and driving. A good read for anyone but especially young drivers who might be tempted to text of check fb while driving!!
This is heart wrenching story of forgiveness and grace! Also
.. do not ever text and drive, or take your eyes off the road, it only takes a matter of seconds to do that and cause an accident!!
I wasn’t real,t expecting to like this book p but it was excellent, well written. Great viewpoint, and thoughtful philosophy. Love, love, love.
I live near Chandler, however I don't know him. I do know he shared his heart in this book. My parents know the Amish family very well. They are a very poor family with great suffering. To think how they could forgive so quickly is amazing. I do not stand in judgement! But, since the day this accident happened, I don't use my cell phone while driving. I learned from Chandler.
A true story about a young man who is learning some of life's great lessons, the hard way. He's so fortunate to have his victims as examples to emulate. Hang in there brother. Valuable read.
Chandler did a wonderful job with this book. His feelings of those first days, weeks, months, and now years are real. His willingness to show the reader those feelings is a true testament to his faith. It was an awful accident, but I'm so glad that he has learned from his mistake and telling others how to avoid the same thing through the love of God.
I liked the book because it gave so much helpful information. I liked the fact that he was talking from experience and how he said people make the church. I have such a hard time with forgiveness at times. I liked where he said it's not how many times you have been knocked down but how many times you get back up again. The Amish faith was discussed briefly which was very interesting to learn about.
